Design Project

We were lucky to be awarded funding to enable us to run a design workshop throughout the year during 2011-12  with our children and young people paid for by BBC Children in Need.  The project included research into design, imagery, learning new skills on how to use digital equipment with specific design programmes on the mac and also, drawing original designs and then burning them onto a thermofax screen and learning how to print. From printing posters, fabric, bags, clothing to name but a few of the projects we were able to brand with original creative, amazing designs by children aged 5 right through to 16 years.

Logo’s were created by the older children and incorporate onto their own clothing and used for printing onto sweatshirts and t-shirts.

More images will be added to our gallery to show you just what was created and how we are now planning new pritning projects such as the Andy Warhol printing project where the children will have the opportunity to use skils they gained in last years project and create their own image using digital photography, burning images onto screens to print a series of their portraits in the style of Andy Warhol.

Meanwhile here are some of the images that the children designed and also burned onto the screens using the thermofax machine which burns carbon images into the mesh and can then be used to print with.
