Hornimans Summer Programme begins on the 20th July until the 29th August 2014 until the 28th August 2015.

Hornimans is for children aged 5 (school aged five NOT reception) - 16 years. Please ensure that your child is registered before the summer period, we tend not to register children during the busy period.

We will be running amazing activities and workshops for all our registered children during the six week period, the only adventure that runs for the full six week holiday period.  From printing t-shirts, giant weaving, documentary film making, song writing, Dance Attack, Play Day, Forest Camp, Music, Jamming, cooking club, grow it Yourself in our kitchen garden, creating amazing cakes, raw food, dehydrating and experitmenting in the kitchen area, smoothies and juices, screen printing, digital photography, collage, murals, witheys, sewing, alien creation from recycled materials, brooches, jewellery, sport: dodgeball, basketball, footy, tennis, badminton, fitness, boxing, goat care with our four darling Pygmys Freddy, Harry, Barry White and Bobby.

We are fortunate to be support by different funders in order for us to be able to provide the activities/workshops and to open and run Hornimans.  Thank you to K & C Foundation for our summer playworker and some of the summer activities, Awards for All for our Media centre.  Hornimans is commissioned by RBK&C

Our New Website

Out with the old and in with the new. I am in the process of updating our website because the open source content management system we use needed to be upgraded the most recent version. It took far longer than I thought and with everything else needing to be done, is still taking far too long. So bear with, bear with, bear with.... (Anyone who watches Miranda the TV series will know what that's all about!) and hopefully we shall resume normal services online quickly. You can look forward to a bigger better gallery area which you wil need to be registered to view, downlaodable registration forms which you can fill in and return by hand, information, events taking place - with the ability as a regular registered member to purchase tickets on line. So much to do, so little time. Best get off and keep on updating, there is rather a lot of content to gather and replace so please be patient and if you have any questions, contact the playground. Although the web is huge, we try as best we can to keep our website safe and accessible for the people who require the inromation about what we do and who we are. So if you register to gain access to other areas of the site you cannot at the moment see as a 'guest' once you register and it is approved by the web master, you will be able to have access to all areas. All images are used with the agreement of parents. Sometimes errors happen and so if by chance you see pictures that have not had authorisation for use, just drop us a line and it will be removed.

Hornimans Meets Rihanna

The children of Hornimans were shocked and surprised at being invited to Westfield shopping centre to meet the international popstar Rihanna and help her turn on the Christmas lights.  It was a whirlwind of an evening and a night they will never forget.

The invitation came from Help a London Child, who had also recently invited some of our children and staff to collect a cheque from Chelsea Football ground, from club members who had organised fundraising events before a match.  If this wasn't enough, we received a second invite and happily accepted on behalf of our children.
